What is Markdown?
Markdown describes formatting with a small set of symbols, letting plain text express structure such as headings, lists, and links. It is easy to read and write, widely used in documentation, blogs, and README files.
For example, # marks a heading, **text** marks bold, and - marks a list item, while the source text itself stays clearly readable.
Live preview
While you type on the left, the right side renders the final look instantly, with no manual refresh.
Preview rendering is sanitized first: even if the content contains raw HTML, dangerous tags such as scripts are filtered out to prevent XSS.
Import and export
"Import .md" loads an existing Markdown file so you can keep editing.
- Export .md: save as a plain-text Markdown source file
- Export HTML: generate a complete web page that opens directly in the browser
- Copy HTML: copy only the rendered HTML fragment, easy to paste into an existing page
Article / HTML to Markdown
Besides writing Markdown by hand, you can convert existing web articles or HTML code into Markdown, saving the effort of formatting manually.
- Paste rich text: copy the body from a web page or document and paste it in, keeping structure such as headings, lists, tables, and links
- HTML source: paste source code such as <h1>, <p>, <table>, or upload an .html file
- After conversion you can copy, download the .md, or send it into the editor with one click to keep editing
Where are drafts saved?
Your input is automatically saved in the localStorage of your local browser, so you can keep editing after a refresh or the next time you open it.
Drafts exist only on your own device and are never synced or uploaded to any server. Clearing browser data also clears the drafts.
